From November 19 to Christmas Eve, Cherry Creek's busiest block is Fillmore between 1st and 2nd Avenue, after dark, with the street closed to cars. The neighborhood's next set of new storefronts sits a block or two east, on Milwaukee Street, Detroit Street and 3rd Avenue, and they are built for coffee, bagels, pastry and lunch. The holiday season is about evenings in one spot. The openings lined up behind it are about weekday mornings spread across the district, and they mostly arrive after the lights come down.
That split is how this winter's calendar is laid out.
One Block, Five Weeks
The 7th annual Cherry Creek Holiday Market opens Thursday, November 19, and runs through Thursday, December 24, 2026, on Fillmore Plaza. It's free and open to all ages. Dozens of local makers, designers and creators set up there, with live music, and the Mistletoe Lounge serves a full bar of seasonal drinks. Fillmore Plaza will be closed to traffic between 1st and 2nd Avenue for the full run. That's about five weeks with no cars on the street that links the shopping center to the north side of the district.
The hours change through the week. They're worth saving if you plan to stop by on the way home instead of making a special trip:
| Day | Market hours |
|---|---|
| Monday to Wednesday | 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. |
| Thursday to Saturday | 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. |
| Sunday | 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. |
| Final week, Dec. 18 to 23 | 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily |
| Thanksgiving, Nov. 26 | 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. |
| Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 | 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. |
Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 26 this year. The market's own site lists the short holiday hours on that date. The Cherry Creek North event page labels Thanksgiving as November 27, which is the Friday. Go by the market's listing. Expect the 12-to-3 window on the 26th and regular Friday hours, 11 to 9, on the 27th.
The latest hours in the schedule are Thursday through Saturday and the last week before Christmas, when the market stays open until 9. On Monday through Wednesday it closes at 7, so a weeknight visit after work leaves a short window.
The Mistletoe Lounge Is Booking Private Events
The Mistletoe Lounge page says it's taking reservations for private events during the 2026 holiday season. It serves holiday-themed drinks, with and without alcohol. If you're thinking about an office gathering or a group of neighbors in December, book early. The lounge runs only as long as the market does, and December weekends tend to fill first.
The Machines at the Entrance
The Light the World Giving Machines arrive the same day the market opens. They stand at the market entrance near 2nd Avenue and Fillmore Street and run 24 hours a day from November 19, 2026 through January 4, 2027. They look like vending machines, but instead of snacks they sell donations to people in need. They also outlast the market by more than a week, so they're still running at the 2nd and Fillmore corner after the stalls are packed up and the street reopens.
The Weekend After Thanksgiving
Small Business Weekend runs Friday, November 27 through Monday, November 30, 2026, across Cherry Creek North. Last year's district announcement described it as highlighting more than 150 locally owned shops and restaurants. It starts the day after Thanksgiving, on a Friday when the market is back to its regular 11-to-9 hours, so the market and Small Business Weekend overlap for all four days.
Saturday Night Lights, Listed Once So Far
Last year, Saturday Night Lights ran on three Saturdays, December 6, 13 and 20, at 105 Fillmore St. It had a live DJ, a light-up dance floor, a tunnel of lights, a free photo booth, hot chocolate, Santa and Mrs. Claus, and, new last year, horse-drawn carriage rides.
As of late October, the 2026 listing shows one date, Saturday, December 12, from 5 to 8 p.m., at a new address, Civica Plaza, 250 Fillmore St. It promises music, dancing and entertainment "under the glow of one million dazzling lights," and tells visitors to check back for more details. If your family made a habit of last year's Saturdays, put December 12 on the calendar now and check the page again in early December, in case more dates or the activity lineup get added.
The lights cover the whole district. Cherry Creek North's Winter Wanderland page describes free outdoor holiday events and more than a million lights across 16 blocks. That means an evening walk anywhere between 1st and 3rd Avenue looks like the season, even away from the market.
Parking When Fillmore Is Closed
Closing Fillmore takes one street out of the grid. It doesn't take away the parking. The district lists more than 4,500 spaces. Meters run Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at $2 an hour, with a three-hour limit, and parking is free on Sundays and select holidays. Monday through Wednesday, the market closes at 7, the same time the meters stop. Thursday through Saturday it stays open until 9, so a late arrival gets two hours of shopping without feeding a meter. On Sundays, parking is free the whole time the market is open.
What's Behind the Plywood
The season sits on Fillmore. The announced openings mostly sit east of it, and most of them are morning and lunch places.
Two Hands, 221 N. Milwaukee St. The Australian café is taking the ground floor of BMC Investments' The Oasis apartment building. The Denver Post reported in August that the space is 3,400 square feet, with a fireplace, a 900-square-foot patio and a coffee window facing the building's small courtyard. Only one other Two Hands has that kind of window, in Austin, Texas. The opening was described as "this spring." In the same article, BMC CEO Matt Joblon said, "There's really not that many breakfast spots in Cherry Creek, especially with Syrup closed." The menu is expected to mostly match the Tennyson Street location, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is known for brunch.
PopUp Bagels, 299 Milwaukee St. BusinessDen reported in September that the bagel chain leased space in the same Oasis building. That report gave no opening date. Once both are open, that block of Milwaukee will have two morning spots under one roof.
Butterdrop Bakeshop, 250 Detroit St. The bakery is going in next to Aviano Coffee, and BusinessDen reported in October that it's slated to open next year. Coffee and pastry on neighboring storefronts makes that stretch of Detroit an easy morning stop.
BoxBox, 3003 E. 3rd Ave. The fast-casual salad and bento shop signed a 10-year lease for 1,300 square feet in the former Sweet Izzy space, according to the Denver Post in October. It's slated to open in early 2027 after closing its Park Hill store this past August.
Pottery Barn, Cherry Creek Shopping Center. The retailer plans to take over the former Arhaus space, 13,400 square feet, inside the mall, per BusinessDen, which gave no opening date.
One familiar spot is staying put. True Food Kitchen's Cherry Creek restaurant is staying open while the chain goes through bankruptcy, even though 12 locations elsewhere closed, BusinessDen reported.
How the Two Calendars Line Up
Every confirmed holiday event is clustered around Fillmore Plaza and the blocks near it, and the late hours run past dinner. Apart from Pottery Barn inside the mall, every announced new business is a daytime spot on Milwaukee, Detroit or 3rd Avenue. None has an opening date before the market closes on December 24. Of those with a stated timeline, BoxBox says early 2027 and Butterdrop says next year. Two Hands told the Denver Post in late August it would open "this spring."
For anyone who lives within walking distance, that sets up the next few months. Through Christmas Eve, Cherry Creek's evenings are on one car-free block, open until 9 on Thursdays through Saturdays and every night of the final week. The new places are aimed at early mornings and weekday lunches, and the first ones are expected in the months after the lights come down.
